Well shoot. On Christmas day I weighed 201.6. I should have recorded it! I’d anticipated a temporary ‘carb induced water gain’ from the Great Northern beans & cornbread but have no idea what this is that’s sticking around because I’m barely reaching my RDI.

Is it possible my ‘hibernating bear metabolism’ is reversing as it’s been unseasonably warm here in Texas? Well, that’s not accurate. It’s Texas. We can experience all four seasons in a single day.

On the other hand ~ I’d slept right through the fact that I moved from the category of being morbidly obese to just obese. So there’s that. Woo-hoo, huh? So ‘overweight’ is my next goal. Yeah, a weird goal. Every gal’s dream.

There’s really not much else going on food & weight-wise. I’m still recording my intake, standing & moving more, eating the same WOE, and being mindful of my meals.

I’m fasting today (well, except for coffee I fast until 6-7 pm most days because I just don’t have much of an appetite). But today specifically because I’m dining out tonight.

Hopefully I’ll have some nice photos of food to post. I haven’t posted any lately because it’s all home cooking - single skillet meals. Tasty, filling & healthy but I’m not messing around with fancy plating & photo shoots.

My dance card is uncharacteristically full this weekend. In the weirdest sense of ‘if you build it, they will come’ I’d decided early this year that I was tired of being ‘the social director’ in my relationships.

I wanted my friends to be the ones to invite ‘me’ sometimes instead of ‘me’ always doing the suggesting, planning, organizing and scheduling while they just accepted and showed up.

Color me selfish but that’s where I was. And I told them, too. So meanwhile I grew comfortable with going places alone.

As an introvert I’m quite fine with being alone at home but going out in public took a few outings to realize it wasn’t that bad. I didn’t have to care if anyone else enjoyed what we were doing, ask their opinion on where to eat, make the plans, nothing. It was quite freeing, actually.

But THIS weekend, I guess everyone finally took me seriously, decided they missed me or just wanted to get something on the calendar before the new year.

So I’m going to dinner & concert (Steve Miller Band) tonight with one friend. Dallas Arboretum for ‘The 12 days of Christmas’ tomorrow morning with another friend. And the ‘Pegasus - Black & White Play’ tomorrow night with my Daughter & her husband. Okay, that last one was my invite. So I’m 2 for 1? 2 out of 3? Math.. gah.

So it just occurred to me that I'll also be dining out for lunch and dinner tomorrow too. Holy smoke. Watch out scale!!

In a way I wanted to say, “not this weekend” when so many invites came at the same time but it’s been so long since the other two friends planned anything with me that I hesitated to say ‘no’. So, I’ll be brewing an extra pot of coffee.

Otherwise? Still sewing & creating things inspired by YouTube videos for using up scrap material. It’s relaxing to me (mostly - although I did call my sewing machine a rusty son of a can opener a few times). I’ve been making small clutches, coin purses, bowl cozy’s, lip balm holders, etc. I just toss the results into a little basket & let people take what they want when they visit.

This is probably from sodium. Don’t worry until it sticks around for the month ;). I think you are doing great. It’s those little goals of getting to obese to overweight that gets you to ‘normal weight’. Good job making friends come to you. They should put out the effort sometimes too! Enjoy your sewing!

Thanks everyone. The meal was great (photos posted) and we had fantastic seats (table actually) with a wonderful view. The Arboretum was pushed off to Yesterday due to weather & yesterday was the perfect day. The play was disappointing. Busy week. I just took my tree down. My living room seems so lonely now. I used to decorate a 4' tree for every holiday for Cutty - it added a little cheery glow to the room and the theme changing was nice. I may bring the tree out & do that now.
