Great day yesterday. Reducing the Diet Coke from 2-liters/day to 12 oz really helped with fluid retention - thus the 3-lb loss this morning. Also started a new medication for "overactive bladder," which has the side effect of dry mouth, so it was easier to get in all of my water. Going to the pool with the kids today and going to swim at least 12 laps. It's harder to get in the exercise when the kids are with me, but I'm going to make it happen. At the pool, I usually get the kids breaded chicken tenderloins (which I have some of) and a Chips Galore ice cream cookie sandwich, which we split among us. I also bring string cheese and beverages and chips. Today, I'll stick to just the string cheese. (I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.)

For dry mouth, try the Biotene spray, it really helps.

Good job! I understand the goal of reducing the diet Coke. I am working on that as well. Also the string cheese. I have it as a snack as a way to get enough protein. Congrats on swimming 12 laps!
