This group has hikes of all kinds and geared to people of many ages and abilities..this is what I mean when I talk about making exercise a social event with laughter and lots of fun all along the way.. makes the miles click by so much faster. And it is a safer practice

This was not my app. This was off of my friend’s piece of technology. I don’t personally use them. I have a freebie on my phone that I use to track the route but that’s all. FS said about 900+ calories for 3 hours of hiking. Close enough for me.

Saw this picture and knew it was you!👏👏👏 The Sierra Club, wouldn’t take you along if you had any kind of disability or draw back, they were there to hike! I wonder if they are kinder now? Congratulations on achieving your hike!👍

Everyone pretty much hiked the same pace— I was hiking right alongside her. This group does lots of hikes of varying degrees of difficulty. If you are newer to the group you may have to get approval from the leader. There are some hikes that have a pace, experience and hiking frequency expectancy. Thanks good by me. The oldest person on this hike at 80, is a real tiger. Most of the group were in that middle age range. It was a training hike for a big camping and hiking trip some are going on iearly summer.

Shrewdness— it’s not a matter of kindness. Many organizations rate their activities for difficulty so that people don’t sign up for activities they realistically cannot do and there should not be an expectation that others are going to “carry” them. If they want to attempt some of these more difficult hikes they need to diligently practice and improve upon their abilities starting with some of the easier outings.
