I went to bed at 8pm last night. I had taken my THREE Trazadone (sleep meds), as usual. BUT, instead of falling asleep, I lay there, semi-paralyzed, freezing to death (even though it was 68-71 in the house, depending on which thermostat you look at). I lay there for THREE HOURS, TRYING to go to sleep, and cold, but too tired to get up and put on a jacket or put the hair dryer in the bed with me! Finally, at 11pm, I got up (NOT in a good mood), and made myself a cup of hot chai tea. All would have been fine if I would have stopped there. But, I stood there, half asleep at the kitchen counter, and decided what "I really needed" was a piece of toast with butter and peanut butter on it. I COULD have just put in all the first numbers, and just NOT checked the "Bite-it-Write-it" box, and nobody would have been the wiser. BUT, in my mind, that would have been cheating. I ALSO entertained the deceptive thought of just putting the toast on TODAY's Food Diary and working around it to keep my numbers right. The ole devil had already WON by convincing me that I "needed" something to eat which I didn't - I wasn't going to give him a second victory by letting him get me to lie about it! I'm starting this morning in a very bad mood, as well - but with a clear conscious, at least.
